... The exact template to make your nutrition coaching sell itself.

Written by: Dr. Marc Morris Ph.D CSCS

If you’ve ever wondered how other coaches are creating programs that get their clients amazing results and sell like crazy, keep reading.

Today I will show you how to create your own nutrition coaching program that will sell itself. I’ll show you how to structure your program, price your program, and show you exactly what you will deliver to get your clients great results.

Step One: Create Your Program

When developing a nutrition coaching program, the first step is to define the desired outcome and identify your target audience.

Clients want more than just coaching; they want the results that come from it.

Instead of merely offering "nutrition coaching," create programs that cater to specific goals, such as a "weight loss program" or a "muscle building program." By centering your programs around tangible results, you'll differentiate yourself from other coaches who offer generic nutrition coaching services.

Define the Result

It's crucial to focus on the results your program delivers. Potential clients are more likely to be attracted to programs that promise clear, desirable outcomes. For instance, a "weight loss program" is more compelling than a vague offer of "nutrition coaching." By clearly articulating the benefits and results of your program, you make it easier for potential clients to see the value in what you offer.

Identify Your Niche

Beyond the results, consider who you want to help. This is known as "niching." Choosing a specific niche allows you to tailor your program design, marketing strategies, and deliverables to meet the unique needs of your target audience. The best way to select your niche is to think about the types of clients you enjoy working with and have the expertise to assist.

Step 2: Program Structure and Deliverables

As a new nutrition coach, beginning with one-on-one coaching is a strategic move. It allows you to charge more per person and focus on delivering quality results without needing a large client base to fill a group program.

When it comes to how you coach, instead of customizing everything for each client, create a general structure that every client follows and make small customizations for each client when necessary. Since your clients have similar lifestyles and goals, your coaching can be systemized so it’s repeatable and reliable for each client. This makes it easier for you since you have a system that can be repeated, which gives you more room to focus on customizing things that matter like macronutrients, calories, etc.

Essential Components of Your Nutrition Program

To ensure your clients have a great experience and achieve their desired results, include the following three elements in your program:

  1. Check-ins:

    • Conduct weekly check-ins to assess progress, adjust plans, and provide actionable feedback.
  2. Personalized Nutrition Plan:

    • Develop a system to give clients customized calorie and macro targets.
    • Provide a way for clients to track their nutrition for your review.
  3. Support:

    • Establish a method for clients to ask questions and provide updates outside of check-ins. Options include email, messaging apps, or specialized coaching software.

These three items alone are enough to get your clients results and create a thriving nutrition coaching business. Adding anything more only takes away from your clients getting their desired result.

However, as you gain experience and work with different clients, you may find that adding some extra components to your nutrition coaching service can enhance results and client satisfaction. This is when you can add some extra elements to your coaching things like:

  • Exercise routines
  • Recipes, grocery lists, and other helpful resources or tutorials
  • A client community
  • A coaching software

Step 3: Sell Your Program

Now that you know who your program is for and what it includes, it's time to package it and sell it to clients.

Program Name

Your coaching program deserves a clear and captivating name. The name should reflect who you help and the result they want to achieve.

For example:

  • For moms wanting to lose baby weight: “90-Day Fit Mom Blueprint”
  • For men who golf and want to get in shape: “Lean Golf Program”

Clear and straightforward names help potential clients instantly understand who your program is for and what results they can expect.

Pricing Your Program

Pricing your nutrition coaching can be daunting, especially with varying rates in the market. Here's a simple guide:

  • Beginners (under 1 year): Charge $150-$200 per month.
  • Experienced (1 year or more, 10+ clients): Charge $250-$300 per month.
  • Expert (established coaches): Charge $350+ per month.

By following these three steps, you'll create a solid signature program that reaches your ideal clients. These strategies will boost sales and generate interest in your coaching, ensuring your clients gett the results they're looking for. Your program will give your clients confidence they will achieve their goals through your expert guidance and support.
